This Privacy Policy explains what information ElektronSkins collects when you visit elektronskins.com or place an order, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep this short and specific: we only collect what we need to run the store, ship your skins, and reply when you contact us — and we never sell your personal information.

01Who we are

ElektronSkins ("we", "us", "our") is a US-based store that sells precision-cut vinyl skins and custom-printed, made-to-order designs for electronic music gear such as Akai MPC and Elektron devices. This policy applies to elektronskins.com and to any order placed through it.

02Information we collect and why

We collect only the information we need to take your order, deliver it, and support you afterward. Here is exactly what that means:

Order and shipping details — When you buy, our checkout (hosted by Stripe) collects your name, email address, and shipping address so we can take payment and deliver your order. Your payment card details are entered on Stripe's secure checkout and never touch our servers.
Contact-form messages — If you write to us, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you include in your message, so we can reply and help you.
Custom-order uploads — For custom-printed designs, you can upload artwork and related files. We store and use them only to produce your order.
Newsletter email — If you sign up for updates, we keep your email address to send occasional emails. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Analytics — We measure basic, anonymous site usage. See "Cookies and analytics" below for exactly how this works.

03Cookies and analytics

We use a first-party, cookieless page-view beacon to understand how many people visit and which pages are popular. It sets no cookies, does not store your IP address, does not track you across other websites, and uses no ad networks or profiling.

We store a coarse city/region derived from network (edge) headers on an anonymous basis. There is no visitor ID, so these page views cannot be linked together over time or tied back to you personally.

One exception: when you go through payment, Stripe may set its own cookies on its checkout pages for security and fraud prevention. That processing is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy, not ours.

05We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. We also do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Your data is used to run ElektronSkins and fulfill your order — nothing else.

06How long we keep your data

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it, then delete or anonymize it:

Order records — kept as long as needed to fulfill your order and to meet our accounting, tax, and legal obligations (typically several years).
Custom-order artwork and files — kept to produce your order and to support reprints or warranty claims, then deleted when no longer needed or on your request.
Contact messages — kept while we handle your request and for a reasonable period afterward.
Newsletter email — kept until you unsubscribe.
Analytics — aggregate and anonymous, retained without personal identifiers.

07Your rights and choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to stop sending you marketing. To unsubscribe from the newsletter, use the link in any newsletter email. For anything else, email elektronskins@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

If you are in the EU, the UK, or a US state with privacy laws (such as California), you may have additional rights — including access, deletion, correction, data portability, and the right to object to or restrict certain processing. Our legal bases for processing are: performing our contract with you (taking and delivering your order, and providing support), our legitimate interests (running, securing, and improving the store), and your consent (the newsletter, which you can withdraw at any time).

EU and UK residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first, so please contact us before you do.

08Children's privacy

Our store is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email elektronskins@gmail.com and we will delete it.

09Security

We use reputable providers and secure, encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) to protect your information, and payment details are handled entirely on Stripe's PCI-compliant checkout — they never reach our servers. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard the information you share with us.

10International visitors and data transfers

We are based in the United States and currently ship within the US only. If you visit from outside the US, your information will be processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws than your own. Where required, our providers use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the store evolves. When we do, we will change the effective date shown at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will make that clear here.
